Vacant downtown building demolition for future development opportunity

Last Updated 12/16/2021Posted in News & Press

If you're in Downtown Roseville, you may have noticed demolition underway on the vacant City-owned building at 505 Royer Street. Previously, the building was used by Placer County as a courthouse.

This work is preparing the 1.17 acre site for future use. A Request for Proposals for sale and development of the parcel is anticipated for release by the Economic Development Department in the coming weeks.

Prospective projects will be evaluated for their potential to provide housing or commercial options that enhance Downtown Roseville.

Schedule
Demolition work began on Wednesday, Feb. 24 and is expected to last several weeks. The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen conditions.

Working hours are weekdays, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

What you can expect
We’re making every effort to minimize disruption. However, you can expect noise in the vicinity.

Parking on Royer Street and Taylor Street will be unavailable immediately adjacent to the building. Areas closed to the public will be marked by signage in advance.

Please contact Public Works - Facilities by calling (916) 774-5740 or emailing with any questions about demolition.
