Library Sidewalk Pickup Launches
Sidewalk pickup for library books has been so popular that we are adding the service to the Downtown Library and expanding hours at all three locations to 10:00am-4:00pm, Tuesday-Saturday, beginning Tuesday, July 14.
If you haven't used sidewalk pickup yet, the process is simple - just place a hold on library materials through the online library catalog; receive an email, phone call or text when your items are ready to pick up; then visit the libraries during the sidewalk pickup hours.
When you come to pick up the items on hold, park in the designated area and call the number on the sign to let us know you have arrived. To ensure contactless delivery, the library items on hold will be retrieved, checked out to you and placed on a table on the sidewalk with a receipt showing the items inside the bag.
Safety practices
All returned library materials are quarantined for no less than 72 hours to minimize potential spread of COVID-19. The items will remain on your account during that time period. We have increased the maximum number of materials you may check out to accommodate this delay.
Staff and customers are required to wear face coverings per the guidance from the California Department of Public Health. We had planned to open for limited computer use by reservation soon. Due to the guidance regarding limiting indoor services on July 13, we are not moving forward with opening computer use at this time.
